Our summer camps will begin on June 15th with a Clay Camp, followed by another on June 22nd. Our last camp will start the week of Aug 3rd. There will be no camps the week of June 29th. All camps will be held at Hilton Head Pottery Studio at 21 Mathews Drive on Hilton Head Island.
-
We will have morning and afternoon sessions. Morning sessions start at 9 am and run until 11:30 am. Afternoon sessions begin at 2 pm and end at 4:30 pm.
-
Our camps are designed for kids in 1st through 8th grade. The morning session is for younger children (1st through 4th grade), while the afternoon session is tailored for older kids (4th through 8th grade).
-
We may allow siblings to attend the same session with prior studio approval. Because projects are selected by age group, substantial age differences can make it challenging for siblings to participate in the same activities and stay fully engaged. If you’d like us to review your request, please contact the office and we’ll help identify the most appropriate session for each child.
-
No, we will not provide any snacks or drinks. We will have a break each day, and you may send a drink bottle and simple healthy snack for them to enjoy. NO CANDY PLEASE.
-
Please note that art projects can get messy. We recommend not sending children in their best clothes. Clay typically washes out, but some projects may cause staining. As a precaution, consider sending an old adult button-down shirt or t-shirt as a protective smock that can be discarded at the end of camp if needed.
IMPORTANT Please note: Due to the extensive number of clay pieces created by the children, our firing process takes approximately 4 to 6 weeks to finish the final glaze firing. Your children will be working with real stoneware clay, which needs two kiln firings and a clear glaze application in between. You will be notified by email when “all of your child’s pieces” are ready for pickup.
